Biography
Founded in January 2016, The Reid Consort is dedicated to the development of central Scotland’s aspiring professional choral singers. By providing high-level choral music performance opportunities alongside education initiatives, the Reid Consort provides a framework that prepares its singers to be ambassadors for vocal music.
The choir has particular strengths in a cappella sacred music of the 16th-20th centuries but offers flexible, adaptable programmes to your festival/organisation's needs, including works with orchestral accompaniment.
Recent projects and highlights have included:
Bach St Matthew Passion with Covent Garden Sinfonia & Brockham Choral, Surrey
Arvo Pärt PASSIO at St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh
Festival appearances at Edinburgh Sacred Arts Festival; St Andrews Voices (masterclass with Robert Hollingworth)
New works by Thomas LaVoy, Sarah Rimkus, Joanna Gill
Family Concerts in Edinburgh & Midlothian
Recording new works by Chris Hutchings for National Libraries of Scotland
Singers are fixed on a project-by-project basis based on Equity fees. Fees below are based on an octet (lunchtime concert) or a 16 voice choir (full concert) but are negotiable based on your needs/programme requested.
