Biography
The Silver Keys is an international clarinet quartet based in Central Scotland. The current members are Laura Hundert, Pawel Jaworski, Matas Ščerbauskas, and Jennifer Moss. The original members of The Silver Keys met in 2018 when they were all students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of John Cushing, former principal clarinetist of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. As Featured Ensemble for Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Open Music Day 2019, they realized their love of performing live together. Each of the current members are from different backgrounds: Scottish-American, Polish, Lithuanian, and English, and their passion is delving into the different traditions of music from all over the world. The Silver Keys is unbound by genre and enjoy performing new works for clarinet quartet as well as arrangements of well-known pieces as they highlight the clarinet’s wide-ranging ability to perform all styles of music. They were a recipient of the Scotland on Tour 2022-2023 Fund in which they got to perform in further afield places such as Skye and Portmahomack. The Silver Keys is represented by Classical Musicians Scotland.
