Classical EDI
Development Fund

Delivered in partnership with Creative Scotland, Chamber Music Scotland is now accepting applications for our Classical EDI Development Fund. The aim of this fund is to form a cohort comprised of individuals (either freelance, or representatives/employees of an organisation) who will undertake professional development activities that will inform and progress EDI practices within Scotland's classical music sector.

Applicants can apply for up to £2,500 for a range of activities to help develop their EDI goals, including but not limited to:

  • Meetings with local, national, and/or international arts sector initiatives to see examples of progressive EDI policies and strategies in operation
  • Research into developing EDI approaches
  • Events, festivals, and tailored professional development opportunities relevant to your EDI interests

We are searching for Scotland-based applicants from a range of backgrounds and professions who aspire to help shape a more inclusive classical music sector.

Successful applicants will also be expected to participate in two gatherings as part of this fund: a Cohort Gathering and a Sharing Forum. The forums, facilitated by CMS, will allow members of the cohort to guide discussions, enable knowledge sharing, and develop ideas and recommendations to support underrepresented and socially disadvantaged groups within Scotland’s classical music community.

Potential applicants are welcome to join us for an online info session on Thursday 30th March at 1pm. Reserve a space here.

The deadline to submit applications is 11.59pm on Wednesday 19 April 2023.

Download our application form and guidance (audio and BSL versions at the bottom of the page) to find out more about the fund, including how to apply, eligibility criteria and priorities, and access support available.
